Rejuvenating  an Icon

The Rejuvenating an Icon campaign focuses on the restoration of the celebrated, Grade II listed Hemsted House, particularly repairing its roof.

Hemsted House, our Grade II listed landmark, is one of Benenden’s most treasured buildings. Its historic façade and architectural significance make it central to the identity of the School.

We are now actively restoring Hemsted to safeguard it for generations to come. Action is vital: addressing issues today prevents far more disruptive and costly repairs in the future. Specialist teams are currently restoring key areas of the Victorian roof, safeguarding original craftsmanship while making important safety and efficiency upgrades.

This significant project is already supported by generous members of our community. Like many independent girls’ schools without large endowments, Benenden relies on philanthropy to achieve its strategic aims and maintain its leading position in girls’ education. Every contribution makes a meaningful difference.

Further support will help us complete this vital conservation work and ensure Hemsted House continues to stand as a symbol of educational and architectural excellence for generations to come.

Ways to  Give

Every gift, large or small, brings us closer to preserving the historic Hemsted House for future generations. With £500,000 of our £2 million fundraising target already secured, we now seek to raise the remaining £1.5 million through the support of our global community.

There are a number of ways to support the restoration of Hemsted House, whether you are based in the UK or elsewhere around the world. Every contribution brings us closer to Rejuvenating an Icon.
