Benenden School is delighted to announce that – for the fourth consecutive year – it has been included in the Spear’s Schools Index Top 100 list of the leading independent schools in the world.
The internationally-renowned indices have been drawn up by Spear’s, their expert partners at Thuso and a panel of independent educationalists from around the world. It is compiled through detailed research, including information gathered from interviews and directly from schools.
In highlighting Benenden, Spear’s recognised the School’s focus on cultivating independence and leadership, alongside its ethos of developing young women with compassion, courage and courtesy.
Its review said: “Central to Benenden’s philosophy is the belief that girls should be encouraged to thrive in traditionally male-dominated pursuits, such as engineering and Esports.” It said: “This principle has been reinforced by the calibre of guests invited to speak at Benenden,” including HRH Princess Basma bint Talal of Jordan and former deputy prime minister Baroness Coffey.
Speaking on the latest proud accolade for Benenden, Headmistress Rachel Bailey said: “I’m delighted that Benenden has once again been named in the Spear’s Index of the Top 100 Schools in the World – for the fourth year running.
“It’s always encouraging when the work we do here is recognised externally, and the Spear’s Index is a highly respected benchmark internationally.”
This recognition comes just months after the Independent Schools Inspectorate also praised the School and awarded Benenden a significant strength for its innovative curriculum. Ms Bailey said: “Together, these endorsements reflect what we strive for every day at Benenden: providing an exceptional education that shapes future generations of successful, visionary women.
“We’re incredibly proud of our staff and students who make achievements like this possible.”
