Maintenance Carpenter

Estates

Type: Full time all year round

We are looking to recruit an experienced and enthusiastic Maintenance Carpenter to join our Estates Department in a busy educational and boarding community.

You will support the Maintenance manager by undertaking general maintenance duties along with installations and will be required to have relevant training and experience as a qualified Carpenter and Joiner.

You will work in a professional and flexible manner that meets the demands of customers and complete all types of painting and decorating activities both internally and externally, including paper hanging and remedial works in order to complete projects as directed by you line manager or other nominated designate.

This role requires the post holder to hold relevant trade City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Carpentry.

Attention to detail and accurate record keeping is essential, ensuring compliance in all areas. We are looking for someone with a collaborative approach who works well as a member of a team but is also happy working on their own. Interpersonal skills are essential as well as a can-do attitude. A general user knowledge of IT is required for the uploading of documents and keeping of records.

A competitive salary of £36,984.11 per annum dependent upon qualifications and experience. The role is 40 hours per week, 8.00am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday, all year round, but some flexibility is required including the occasional weekend and evening if there is an emergency or a pre-planned event.

In addition to the above, Benenden School offer employees’ pension contribution, meals provided free of charge while on duty, free on-site parking, and use of the School’s leisure facilities, including a fitness gym and swimming pool.

Painter and Decorator

School Travel Co-ordinator

General

Type: Part time, term time plus three weeks in the School Holidays

We are looking to recruit a School Travel Co-ordinator to join Benenden’s dedicated Travel Team, who manage the travel arrangements for students, and for staff who organise School events and activities throughout the year.

The Travel Team have a lot of direct contact with parents and staff, and this position requires a customer-focused individual who can demonstrate a high level of professionalism with excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to plan and organise their work, good attention to detail and IT competency in Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel.

Student travel is managed mainly through a school travel booking system and so previous experience of having used travel software would be an advantage, although full training will be given to the right candidate.

Working Hours:

Tuesday 10.00am to 6.00pm
Wednesday 10.00am to 6.00pm
Thursday 10.00am to 6.00pm
Friday 11.00am to 5.00pm
Saturday 8.30pm to 2.00pm

This is a term time position plus 15 days during the school holidays, 9.00am to 5.00pm, dates to be agreed in advance.

The salary for this role is £25,814.39 per annum, with actual pay £16,824.82 pro rata for part time work.

Benenden is one of the leading day boarding schools in Britain. We were founded in 1923 and are situated in 250 acres of attractive parkland in Kent.
