Sunday Evening Matron (Sixth Form)

As a Founders (Sixth Form House) Matron you will work under the direction of the two Founders Housemistresses and masters (FHms).
The holder of this post is responsible for offering evening support to the Founders’ team across both Houses on a Sunday evening and all day Sunday on the return from Half Terms.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Being present in Founders during duty hours sharing responsibility for pupils and assisting the FHms in their work
• Going around Founders, ensuring tidiness especially in kitchens and common areas, reporting to FHms in time for House Order any kitchens which need tidying and following this through
• Ensuring all girls have signed back in after their weekend activities or leave, carrying out a roll call
• Ensuring, with the FHms that all pupils attend Whole School services on Sunday evenings
• Encouraging pupils to get ready for the week ahead
• On the Sunday return from half term, being on duty, to provide Matron support for pupils
• Liaising with the FHms and School Nurses in matters concerning the any ill health of students
• Dispensing, signing in and out of medications
• Checking that the House is in good repair, reporting any defects or breakages
• Working under the direction of the Senior Matron as necessary
• Acting as an escort in an emergency
• Taking part in all training related to boarding duties and health and safety, in order to promote and safeguard the welfare of students in the House
• Being aware of and actively promote the School’s Health and Safety Policy in all respects.
Hours of Work
Term time Sundays 1.00pm – 11.00pm
Half Term Sunday Return to School 1.00pm – 11.00pm
Working within the School
The post-holder will be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children with whom they come into contact. They must ensure compliance with the School’s Child Protection Policy Statement at all times. If in the course of carrying out the duties of the post the post-holder becomes aware of any actual or potential risks to the safety or welfare of the children in the School, they must report any concerns immediately to the School’s Safeguarding team. We are seeking an experienced communications specialist to join our award-winning Marketing Team on a fixed term to cover maternity leave.
It’s an incredibly exciting time to be joining our fast-paced environment at one of the UK’s leading independent schools. The Marketing Team is integral to student recruitment at Benenden, working closely with the Admissions Department on campaigns and long-term strategy. The team’s wide-ranging responsibilities include publications, the website, social media, video production, market research, weekly bulletins, photography, media liaison, advertising and events.
Reporting to the Director of External Relations, our Deputy Director of Marketing (Maternity Cover) will lead the Marketing Team, taking responsibility for publications, digital and video activities and line managing some members of the team.
The successful candidate will be an experienced marketeer who is enthusiastic about sharing the numerous exciting stories of students’ achievements and ambitions. They will need to multi task and enjoy coming up with new ideas. This role involves building relationships with multiple stakeholders internally and externally and the successful candidate will enjoy being part of the Benenden community. The role requires flexibility as many of our events are at weekends and in the evenings.
