The Centenary Campaign
The final phase of our ambitious Centenary Campaign. We are seeking to modernise our Middle School Boarding Houses, improve our SPLASH sports complex, and renovate the iconic Hemsted House building. We are also pushing forwards to complete the first phase of our bursary and partnerships initiative Be the Change.
The Centenary Campaign aims to raise £10million in pledges.
Our Aims

Home from Home – Boarding House Modernisation: Echyngham and Guldeford
In the Summer of 2022, the School invested to remodel elements of our Middle School Boarding Houses including the House studies. We are now looking to our community, to extend our refurbishments of Echyngham and Guldeford, including the modernisation of dorm spaces, bathrooms and social spaces.

Rejuvenating an Icon – Restoration and Boarding House Modernisation: Hemsted
Our Grade II listed building needs substantial investment to maintain it for current and future generations. We need to improve the condition and performance of the fabric of the building, while ensuring we consider modern needs such as data and electrics. Dorms and communal spaces are also in need of remodelling and modernisation, while ‘TopTop’ needs to be brought back into use in the best possible way.

Future Fit – SPLASH Upgrade
Our Sports complex requires improvements to both the swimming pool and gym area. Plans include brightening the spaces, upgrading the showers and facilities, and reconfiguring the gym space to include additional equipment. The result will be a more welcoming, modern space for pupils to visit and make full use of during their time at Benenden.

Be the Change – Bursary and Partnerships Programme
An initial three-year fundraising campaign seeks to triple the number of Benenden’s fully-funded bursary places. At the mid-point of this first phase, we are halfway to our fundraising target. By the end of 2024 we aim to have 24 bursary funded students in the School at any given time. Benenden is committed to providing academically gifted girls from all backgrounds with the opportunity to benefit from a Complete Education.
Be the Change also supports our partnerships programme which includes our work with other schools and volunteering within the local community.
