Cheerleaders, colour run, inflatables and multiple soakings… It must be the day of the year when the Six Twos take charge of the School!
By tradition, the leaving year group are given control of the School for a day in June that is devoted to madcap events and fun! This year’s Six Two chose a High School Musical theme, with plenty of music, dancing and cheerleader outfits.
The day began with the Six Two leading the younger girls in singing, dancing and athletics activities, with an inflatable assault course and plenty of encouragement using water pistols.
The pupils then gathered in separate venues to view the Leavers’ Video – a hilarious 20-minute production put together by the year group. This was followed by an array of stalls and the opportunity to throw a sponge at teachers – in aid of the School’s charity, APIE (A Partner in Education).
In glorious weather, we then enjoyed an exciting Student v Staff Lacrosse match, which was played in great spirits and amid a wonderful atmosphere. This was followed by an entertaining cheerleading performance by the Six Two.
After lunch, the older students took part in a dramatic colour run on Top Lax which was enormously good fun.
After showering off the coloured dye and a quick change of clothes, the day ended with the formal leavers’ photos on the rear terrace and a delicious meal served outside on the Oulton Quad, with dancing afterwards in the Georgiadis Studio.
