Students Complete Projects with Probing Presentations

The Upper Fourth (Year 8) have recently spent two days finishing their Foundation Project Qualifications. Part of the Benenden Diploma , this Level 1 qualification equates to half a GCSE, and takes the form of a 1,000 word essay responding to a title question. The students have to research from a range of resources, both printed and digital, and form an argument leading to a conclusion. They also have to complete an evaluative logbook of their work and give a short presentation, answering questions from the audience. It is great preparation for GCSE study and hones the students’ skills in essay construction, critical thinking and research. Titles this year include:
