Last week was Cultures Week at Benenden, giving students the opportunity to partake in an array of activities designed to allow them to share from and experience a diverse range of different cultures.
The schedule for the week, published in the Cultures Week magazine that was produced by students from the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion committee, included screenings of Minari and Encanto (both reviewed in the magazine) and karaoke in the Café. Cookery demonstrations were held in the Founders Kitchen across Friday and Saturday.
Additionally, on Friday pupils were able to participate in an exciting Cultures Week fair, for which they were invited to wear cultural dress. The Atrium was alive with the colours of clothing that spoke to pupils’ cultural heritage, as they sampled tasty treats traditional to their friends’ varied backgrounds.
