Sports Day Celebration of House Spirit

Sports Day got off to a lively start with Mrs Goulet’s now legendary Zumba warm-up, which had the whole School dancing before the first event of the day. Bringing the Houses together, it set the tone perfectly for an afternoon of athletics, House spirit and friendly competition.

There were impressive performances throughout the day, with many students producing personal bests and contributing valuable points for their Houses. Among the standout performances were Cora, who secured a commanding victory in the 800m, and Emily, whose superb throw of 25.91m set a new School discus record. The 1500m also provided one of the most memorable races of the day, with Bo and Lara battling stride for stride all the way to the finish line.

As always, the relays provided a thrilling conclusion to the afternoon. Fierce House competition was a feature throughout the day, and the relays were no exception. The Inter Relay featured a closely contested battle between Echyngham and Hemsted, while the House Relay produced another memorable photo finish. After a superbly competitive final leg between Mrs Lynch and Miss Hobson, Echyngham narrowly edged out Hemsted to claim victory.

Congratulations to Marshall, who won the Six One Alternative Sports Day and to Echyngham, who won the Junior and Inter Cups as well as the overall Sports Day title.

A special thank you to our incoming Head Girl, Imaan, and Captains of School, Beatrice and Pema, who did an outstanding job as Masters of Ceremonies, keeping energy levels high, the music flowing and helping make the day such an enjoyable occasion.

A huge thank you to all the families who came along to support. Your encouragement from the sidelines was greatly appreciated by our athletes and helped round off a truly memorable afternoon of sport.

Finally, congratulations to this year’s gold  medal winners, especially Teni, who won a hat-trick of gold medals!
