Earlier this month we said a goodbye to our Six Twos on an emotional and thoroughly enjoyable Speech Day.
The day proved a wonderful celebration of the pupils’ achievements across the year and opened with a speech from the Chairman of Governing Council, Anna Birkett before the Headmistress Samantha Price addressed a packed marquee, offering the girls some life advice and reflecting on a few of the many highlights of the past year.
After the traditional montage of picture highlights had been enjoyed by the audience Deputy Head – Boarding and Pastoral Care, Alison Steven, on the occasion of her retirement, announced the prizewinners.
It was then time for a nostalgic speech from the Head Girl before the Six Twos exited the Speech Day marquee via the floral arch to become Benenden Seniors.
There was still time for everyone toenjoy the Speech Day concert, held in the Science Quad, before afternoon tea, ice creams and, in a new addition, a Leavers’ Bench where the departing Six Twos could mark their final day at Benenden.
