Our Six Two students have been brushing up their cooking skills recently as part of our Professional Skills Programme.
The girls were given a talk on how to cook on a budget ready for their time after Benenden. Then they were given a £10 box of food and spices – and put their creative minds together to cook up a storm!
There was a varied selection of great dishes: lentil curry, meatballs with cheese, lasagne, dhal, sweet potato cottage pie and chicken noodle soup.
Our Professional Skills Programme is a course dedicated to teaching students the general skills they need to thrive in the workplace and after they leave Benenden. In the next half of term the practical life skills will include essential car maintenance, basic DIY, electrics, plumbing and First Aid
As part of the course our 2019 Enterprise Challange has also launched. This sees the Six One team up and set up their own businesses with a great selection of products and services.
Throughout this term the girls have a series of workshops covering professional skills such as how to write a business plan, marketing, branding, advertising, website design, business accounts with profit and loss sheets and how to pitch, with a Dragons’ Den Final at the end of term.
