A group of Six Two students are working with the Technologies team to build and code a desktop arcade machine. The machine is being constructed using an old noticeboard as we are trying to upcycle manufacturing materials. Eventually the machine will contain a Raspberry Pi which will have a selection of old arcade type games and will be taken over to the Founders Bar for the sixth formers to use when they are relaxing. As you can see in the above picture, the students have nearly completed the shell of the machine having marked out the wood and cut it and are now in the process of drilling and screwing all the pieces together. Once it has been assembled the machine will be painted and covered in arcade style graphics. Both students pictured above are applying to study Computer Science at university, so this will be a great project to add to their portfolio!
