The Six Two (Year 13) are embracing our Professional Skills Programme, designed to support students as they prepare for their next steps beyond Sixth Form.
Working in small groups, students are engaging in a series of practical workshops, including cooking on a budget with our catering team, car maintenance and basic DIY with our Estates team, preparation for the first year at university with our graduate assistants, and developing spreadsheet skills.
The Six Two have approached the programme with enthusiasm and commitment. At Benenden Sixth Form, we are proud not only of our strong academic outcomes, but also of our focus on developing resilient, capable young people who are well prepared for the future.
Benenden is one of the only schools in the UK to offer a comprehensive Professional Skills Programme – a course dedicated to teaching students the general skills they need to thrive in the workplace.
In our recent ISI Inspection Report (2025), we were proud to have been awarded a Significant Strength for the quality of our non-assessed curriculum that the Professional Skills Programme forms part of.
