Seniors’ Day

Seniors’ Day

Benenden Seniors enjoyed a wonderful Seniors’ Day recently. HeadSamantha Price and Seniors’ Association Chair Sally Everist (who flew in from Australia that morning) were delighted to welcome Seniors and their families to Benenden and most particularly our Speaker, Henrietta Courtauld H86. Henrietta gave a wonderful speech about her work restoring a historic garden and growing cut flowers and was most inspiring as she told us about her passion for soil, restoring its condition and in the process making a great contribution to reducing pollution. The figures she quoted were quite astounding and she showed us that we can all make a difference!

Seniors said a fond farewell to School Chaplain, Craig Huxley, and Deputy Head Boarding and Pastoral Care, Alison Steven, with gifts presented to them by Sally Everist. We had more picnickers than ever this year. Families gathered around Guldeford Green and the 1979 Leavers set up on the Terrace. A petting zoo amused the children and the Caterham 7 racing car built by Benenden students was a highlight of Mrs Price’s tour of the site.
