It gives us enormous pleasure to provide an update on the School Hall and Music School.
After many months of hard work, we are now in a position to share the news that we anticipate that the project will be completed by the end of 2021.
The finished buildings will be a stunning addition to the Benenden site, as you can see from these latest photos.
The majority of the external works are now complete, other than the installation of the external façade to the Hall and landscaping works to both the Seniors’ Courtyard and the perimeter. The last few months have seen the completion of much of the unseen works such as mechanical and electrical services throughout the buildings and the plant room installations.
The practice rooms and offices in the Music School are taking shape, providing lovely light spaces and a peaceful outlook. The scaffolding that dominated the School Hall is down, revealing the diagrid roof and huge circular feature light in all their glory. The timber finish to the School Hall is underway and the bespoke acoustic panels are starting to be installed.
Thisdevelopment – the most ambitious in the School’s history – will be an incredible facility for current and future generations and we are very grateful indeed to the many donors whose generosity has made this possible. We would also like to express our thanks to those governors who have volunteered so much of their time to this project.
