Philosophy and Religion Teacher Wins Award

We are delighted to share the news that Neil Masters, Teacher of Philosophy and Religion at Benenden, has been named Secondary School Teacher of the Year in the Maidstone district at the Kent Teacher of The Year Awards, for his time at Invicta Grammar School in Maidstone. Neil, who recently joined Benenden, said: “This year is my 19th year as a teacher. I really love the opportunity to introduce students to ideas they’ve never heard of before that changes their world and blows their minds! “I’m really enjoying teaching at Benenden. All the students I have met so far have been really lovely and kind and the staff are just the same. “I’ve never felt so welcome in a school before. The students are really inquisitive and eager to learn, which is always a bonus! The award is a bit of a surprise really. It’s lovely to be recognised for hard work, but the pride I take is in seeing students that have struggled move forward and build their confidence.”
