Benenden Six One students recently went to Tonbridge School for a day of Oxbridge discussion and preparation.
This is an annual event Benenden run with Tonbridge and, this year, other schools such as Caterham and Judd attended. This is a great chance for our students to have academic discussions with people they have not met before.
The event involved an introduction from Martin Cox, Director General of the John Locke Institute, focusing on the nature of academic passion and how to evidence this in applications. The rest of the day involved small group academic discussions both with teachers and students from their subject area, but also in explaining concepts to students with other interests.
Our students gained further understanding of the Oxbridge process and, importantly, had a chance to discuss the subject they wish to pursue with others.
