Equestrian events across the country were cancelled this year, however this did not stop the girls competing in online dressage competitions. The National Schools Equestrian Association hosted an online dressage competition, where riders were able to film a dressage test at home.
Benenden’s teams did very well in the online dressage competition. Congratulations to Charlotte on Fourstar Struck, Lily on Auld Flame, Sarah on Cool Comet and Belles on Pentaran Birthday Girl who as a team came 2nd in this national competition and have qualified for the National Championships.
In 7th place was Epernay on Millpark Shogun, Lily on Knockenpower Rebel and Sarah on Sonny Moyglare. In 12th place was Lily on Zirocco Girl, Jemima on Diamond Cruise Lad, Sarah on Sir Lancelot and Tati on Apard Z.
Congratulations to the following girls too who also picked up individual qualifications to the National Championships: Charlotte on Fourstar Struck who was 6th in the Novice test and Lily on Knockenpower Rebel who was 6th in the Preliminary test.
The girls in Equestrian Club have also been improving their knowledge on horse husbandry and understanding the health benefits of green space exercise during lockdown. They have earned their Pony Club badges in Working Dogs, Equine Behaviour and Points of the Horse.
