Six Two (Year 13) English Literature students travelled to Friends House in London for a conference hosted by the English and Media Centre on the Poems of the Decade anthology – one of their A Level set texts.
During the day, they heard from some of the poets featured in their anthology: Daljit Nagra, Simon Armitage and Ros Barber. There was also a talk from Barbara Bleiman offering advice on approaching the unseen text in the exam.
The day ended with Raymond Antrobus and Victoria Adukwei Bulley in conversation. It was a great, poetry-packed day full of insights into the set poems and the writing process more generally, with many opportunities for questions and answers.
