Last weekwe were very privileged to be visited by Dr Helen Pankhurst – great-granddaughter of suffragette leader Emmeline Pankhurst and leading women’s rights campaigner. The talk was based on informed findings from her book Deeds Not Words which explore politics, money, family and identity, violence and culture. Dr Pankhurst kept the girls thoroughly entertained as she spoke onhow far women have come since the suffragettes, how far we still have to go and how we might get there.
