Girl debating

Last week four Benenden students competed in the regional round of the Oxford University Schools' Debating Competition.

There were 65 teams competing at Dulwich College and they debated motions on whether politicians and their families should be forced to use state run health and education systems and whether or not we should regret the expectation that children ought to be grateful to their parents!

The girls competed in pairs and all four of the debaters did an excellent job, with one pair qualifying for the national finals. Only 14 teams from the region made it through to the prestigious national finals that take place in the Oxford Union next weekend.
