During Half Term, students from Upper Fifth (Year 11) and Six Two (Year 13) embarked on a memorable trip to Santander, Bilbao and San Sebastián, discovering the region’s rich culture and stunning landscapes.
Highlights included sampling pintxos in San Sebastián, visiting the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, exploring Casco Viejo, and walking a section of the Camino de Santiago from Iglesias to Comillas. Students also visited the Altamira Caves, Peninsula de la Magdalena, and Gaudí’s El Capricho in Comillas.
A day in the Picos de Europa mountains offered breathtaking views from Fuente Dé, while the trip concluded with time on Playa del Sardinero and a final dinner in Plaza Pombo.
It was a wonderfully enriching week spent discovering Northern Spain.
