Our Combined Cadet Force led the way on a residential trip that took place just before Half Term.
The Officers and Cadets spent an evening under canvas on Pippingford Park Training area, followed by a day of intensive training. The junior Cadets were taught the basic skills that included cooking and eating in the field, camouflage and concealment, making shelters and movement with and without a rifle. The seniors had a busy day learning tactics that culminated in them attacking several positions using blank ammunition. Captain Mark Aggrey, Contingent Commander, said: “It was really good to get the Contingent off site and put them through their paces. There were some very tired Cadets at the end of the 36 hours, but I believe both they and the staff learned a great deal and we look forward to our next adventure!”
