Benenden School is this weekend holding a public display of its exciting plans to construct a new School Hall and Music School.
If approved by planners, the new facilities will feature a 750-seater Hall, featuring retractable seating to provide the flexibility for the Hall to be used for a variety of different events. The Music School will feature a Recital Hall for around 150 people, as well as practice rooms, classrooms and a media suite. The Music School and School Hall will be linked by a bridge through a stunning atrium which will flow into the new courtyard outside, creating a tranquil and beautiful space.
The current Hall was built in 1938 for a School of 240 pupils and we need a new Hall that can serve the current School of 550 pupils, as well as staff and guests. Benenden is renowned for the quality of its music and the new Music School will help Benenden to realise its musical ambitions.
The event is being held at Benenden Village Hall on Saturday 28 April, from 1.00pm to 2.30pm.
Headmistress Samantha Price said: “We look forward to sharing our exciting plans with the village, which we envisage will be a wonderful facility to benefit the whole community.”
