Recently the School’s Law Society held another successful Mock Trial with 47 girls in total acting as barristers, witnesses, members of the jury or sitting in the public gallery.
The defendant was charged with possession of a bladed weapon in a public place. After hearing evidence from some spirited witnesses, and observing clever questioning from the barristers, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty, believing that the defendant, a trainee chef, had the knife in her bag for work purposes.Another fun evening was had by all and special thanks must go to His Honour Judge St John-Stevens who ran the proceedings.
