Benenden Kitchens to Provide Hot Meals for NHS Staff

Benenden has joined forces with Food4Heroes – a national charity coordinating the delivery of nutritious, professionally cooked meals to frontline NHS staff – to provide meals for healthcare professionals.

In collaboration with Food4Heroes, Benenden will be providing 250 meals a day (including weekends) to local healthcare staff. The initiative is being led by Sue Franklin, along with Benenden’s Head Chef Hugh Franklin, who will be coordinating a team of volunteers to help cook and deliver the meals.

Benenden Headmistress Samantha Price said: “We are delighted to be supporting the NHS during this unprecedented crisis. We routinely encourage our pupils to help others so it is entirely fitting that our wonderful kitchen team are leading by example. Food4Heroes is a fantastic initiative and we are proud to be a part of it.”

Susie Hunt, Regional Director, South East at Food4Heroes, is delighted with the collaboration and added: “I remember Benenden School’s food being incredibly creative and nutritious when I was a student there, and the menu they are providing our hardworking NHS heroes looks equally delicious. We are so grateful to Sue Franklin and her incredible team for supporting Food4Heroes’ efforts in Kent, meaning we can support even more of our hardworking NHS.”

Food4Heroes has already delivered thousands of meals to hospitals all over the country.
