Benenden Delegates Commended at REIMUN Conference

19 Benenden MUNers recently attended a conference at Reigate Grammar School. They travelled with a few experienced delegates, but had a large number of first-timers who bravely made the journey to their first MUN conference.

Benenden provided delegates in all seven committees (Security Council, Crisis, DISEC, ECOFIN, SOCHUM, SPECPOL and Health), representing five delegations (Russia, Australia, Greece, Nigeria and Philippines).

Delegates contributed speeches, Points of Information (POIs) and resolutions and clauses. They spoke in General Assembly as well. Even those who spent most of the time listening will have gained plenty from the experience.

In Closing Ceremony, Six One (Year 12) Jinn was thanked for being co-chair in ECOFIN. Jinn was exemplary as a committee chair – a credit to Benenden MUN.

There were also some excellent performances by our delegates in committee. Some were recognised by delegate awards, others not.

Particular well done to:

Lauren, Charlotte, Jinn, one other Six One and several MUNers from Upper Fifth (Year 11) will now be beginning to research and prepare for the Oxford Global MUN Conference in November.
