The Benenden debating team of Claudia, Izzy and Alisha won a highly competitive regional final of the English Speaking Union Mace Debating Competition. The team were in favour of the motion ‘This House regrets the rise of influencer culture as a form of advertising’.
Six teams who had all qualified through two previous rounds were debating in the event that was hosted at Benenden.
They now go on to the UK finals at the end of April where the top 12 teams (out of 360 that entered the competition) from across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will compete.
