Be the  Change

Be the Change is Benenden’s ambitious bursaries and partnerships initiative, widening access and opportunity.

An initial three-year fundraising campaign seeks to triple the number of Benenden’s fully-funded bursary places. At the mid-point of this first phase we are halfway to our fundraising target, and bursary places have increased from an original eight students to 18 at the start of our Centenary year in 2023. By the end of the School’s centenary year in 2023-24 we aim to have 24 bursary funded students in the School at any given time.

These bursaries are fully means-tested, benefiting students who would not otherwise be able to afford an education at Benenden and for whom such support will be truly transformative. Benenden awards up to 110% of fees, so that bursary pupils can experience all aspects of a Benenden education, with the additional funds covering School uniforms, educational trips and other ongoing learning and living expenses.

How can you  Be the Change?

At the start of the centenary year, Be the Change is halfway to its campaign target to raise £5million.

As with previous fundraising campaigns, the success of Be the Change will be dependent upon the generosity of many parents, Seniors and friends of the School. Donations of all values are gratefully received and will quite literally change lives.

If you would like to discuss a possible gift or would like more information, please contact Kyle Johnson.

Words from
The Headmistress

“At Benenden we have always been proud of our commitment to bursaries and partnerships – and we are determined to do even more. We know that these issues are close to the hearts of our incredibly supportive community of parents, Seniors and friends and that together we will be able to make our Be the Change campaign an enormous success, which will benefit generations of young people at Benenden, pupils in our partner schools, our local community across the South East and our society as a whole.”

Samantha Price, Headmistress
