We are active in the local community in many other ways. Below are further examples of the wide ranging partnership work that takes place:
- Strong links with Benenden Primary School. They have regular use of our swimming pool, use of our Eco-Classroom for pond dipping and we provide lunch for their pupils;
- Regular hosts to the Benenden village Merry and Bright club, including Christmas lunch;
- Annual tea party and concert held for East Sussex Association for the Disabled;
- Sixth Form girls working in the village shop;
- All events within the Benenden cultural programme are open to local schools - art, drama, music events and the Sixth Form lecture programme. Many local people attend lectures and international students from the Pestalozzi village are frequent visitors;
- Benenden School provides at least one fully-funded place (up to 100% bursary and support, subject to means-testing) to a local primary school pupil;
- Link set up with The Grange Care Home in Benenden in which girls visit the home’s residents;
- Many staff are governors to a variety of local state and independent schools, devoting time to helping with school development;
- Host Austrian Summer School each year (Summer Let);
- National Service and Engineering Week practical teaching and field activities with local primary schools to support their National Curriculum teaching;
- Creation of partnership links with the Caldecott Foundation, Ashford, to exchange best practice with teaching staff and support curriculum areas.
