Psychology

Psychology follows the AQA syllabus which is designed to develop students’ understanding of different approaches in Psychology. Through the study of psychological theories, concepts and research, they develop an understanding of the principles underlying the subject.

During the course students also develop the ability to identify ethical issues, apply Psychology to cultural, social and contemporary situations and use a range of research methods to investigate psychological behaviours and concepts. The topics covered in the first year include Attachment, Memory, Psychopathology and Social influence while in the second year, students study Gender Development, Forensic Psychology and Schizophrenia.
