A Complete Education

Benenden pupils will learn to understand and value creativity and they will experience a range of creative and cultural activities across a variety of art forms, both as a participant and observer.

They will develop an appreciation of the diversity of cultural activities in the UK and across the world.

We place an emphasis on helping pupils to understand the interrelationship of physical and mental health, be able to recognise and manage stress and anxiety and know how to access mental health support and help. They will be able to use strategies to aid focus and concentration, and be able to manage distractions.

Pupils will have an understanding of the major world religions, and a respect for those that have a faith and for those who do not.

Pupils will understand how government systems work and the global differences between them. They will be able to consider the world from the viewpoint of others, understanding the importance of the law and of basic human rights, recognising that humans have responsibilities as well as rights, and to have a sense of duty and compassion towards others.

Pupils will develop a responsible attitude to the impact of humans upon the environment.

At Benenden pupils will acquire a range of practical skills (such as cookery, budgeting and household maintenance).

In addition they will have an understanding of personal finance and economics, the UK and global employment market and be able to think both critically and creatively, and be able to draw from these strategies.

We focus on helping girls learn how to make healthy choices – through diet, exercise sleep and lifestyle – and experience a range of sport and exercise options.

They will understand how to maintain good fitness habits into adulthood, have a sound knowledge of human anatomy and physical development, and be able to conduct basic first aid and life-saving techniques.
