Celebrating 100 Years of A Complete Education
Throughout the 2023/24 academic year Benenden celebrated 100 years at the forefront of British education, bolstering a specially revitalised Centenary Curriculum with a plethora of events and activities to signal the start of the School’s second century.

Inspiring Future
Female Leaders
The Inspiring Future Female Leaders conference was among Benenden’s most ambitious events ever – bringing together students from more than 60 schools across the UK with hundreds more joining remotely worldwide.
With a line-up of truly exceptional female trailblazers, the historic conference featured a stirring closing speech by Benenden Senior and President of the Benenden Society

Davina McCall opened Benenden’s first Women and Wellness conference, at which students and visitors from local partner schools enjoyed a series of talks on women’s health and wellbeing, touching on finance, digital safety and the menopause.

Benenden celebrated its close connections to the Hong Kong region with a range of events, including a communal walk around the Peak, a special service at St John’s Cathedral, and a Centenary celebration event at the Asia Society.

Students and staff across Benenden looked back to the year of the School’s foundation for clothing, food and lesson inspiration. The School turned back to where it all began, when the three Founders opened their new establishment in 1923.

London Coliseum
The whole of the Benenden School community visited London’s biggest West End theatre for an historic Centenary performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

Celebrating Community
A new exhibition has gone on display which showcases a century-long relationship between the village of Benenden and Benenden School.
Centenary Service
at Canterbury Cathedral
HRH The Princess Royal joined students, staff, parents, alumnae and guests for a special service at Canterbury Cathedral to mark the Centenary.
The First 24
A Benenden Pageant
A re-enactment of the Benenden Pageant, last performed in 1969, was the largest ever outdoors event at Benenden and a spectacular conclusion to the Centenary celebrations.
